Phoenix Data Systems Introduces Flexible Randomization and Clinical Supply ManagementKING OF PRUSSIA, Pa., February 6, 2008 – Phoenix Data Systems (PDS), the leading Full Service Electronic Data Capture (EDC) solutions provider, today announced the immediate availability of randomization and clinical supply management capabilities within the PDS Express™ electronic data capture (EDC) application. This incorporation enables pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies to benefit from accelerated timelines and lower costs for their clinical trials. EDC Randomization encourages sites to immediately enter qualified patients into the EDC system and randomize them immediately as they are enrolled. Faster data entry improves a sponsors’ visibility regarding enrollment. PDS EDC Randomization also reduces the cost, time lag, and cumbersome processes typically associated with off-line randomization through other means. Where IVR randomization remains preferable, PDS IVR eliminates the time lag and manual reconciliation often required with other IVR systems since it writes to the same database as the EDC system. PDS EDC Randomization capabilities provide timely access to clinical data and allow companies to leverage PDS’ responsive service and technology. For instance, once company was able to publish their American Society of Hematology (ASH) abstract a year earlier than would have been possible otherwise. PDS has also incorporated Clinical Supply Management directly within the PDS Express EDC application. The unique PDS solution allows sites to use either the EDC system or PDS IVR to record the use of clinical trial supplies. This flexibility improves the flow of information and allows sponsors to manage trial supplies more easily and efficiently and restock sites and depots throughout the supply chain on a timely basis. PDS EDC Randomization and Clinical Supply Management are currently in use for six programs and they eliminate the need for programming, testing, and validating additional systems while still providing study-specific customization. |
