Phoenix Data Systems Brings Back Pen and Paper at the 43rd Annual Drug Information Association Meeting

Experts also to present hot topics on clinical trial process optimization.

KING OF PRUSSIA, PA.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Experts from Phoenix Data Systems (PDS), a global provider of clinical data management and full service electronic data capture (EDC), have been chosen to present multiple sessions at the 43rd Annual Drug Information Association (DIA) Meeting – the industry’s largest conference happening in Atlanta from June 17-21st.

In addition to addressing hot subjects around clinical trial optimization, PDS will offer attendees the opportunity to capture information revealed through an analysis of their handwriting by visiting Booth # 1651.

Temporarily abandoning their advances in clinical data management and unparalleled EDC technology, PDS will be encouraging DIA meeting attendees to return to the days of pen and paper. Attendees can experience how handwriting analysis can expose the total spectrum of an individual’s traits when, for instance, a writer uses paper case report forms or signs contracts -- perhaps revealing a whole new reason to use EDC?

“Handwriting analysis can be likened to reading a seismograph of the mind and body. The trail left on paper represents an amalgamation of thousands of visual, auditory, emotional, and physical experiences and impacts, that can reveal volumes about a particular individual,” says Dennis Duez, an expert handwriting analyst.

“Phoenix Data Systems’ focus at the DIA Meeting will be on the key issues that help to optimize the clinical trial process but we also wanted to offer attendees another type of analysis, something fresh and fun in addition to unmatched electronic clinical data capture,” said William Claypool, M.D., CEO of Phoenix Data Systems. PDS personnel will also offer demonstrations of their integrated electronic data capture, data management, reporting, and IVR technology for clinical trials.

PDS presentations at the 43rd Annual DIA Meeting include hot subjects such as functional outsourcing and adaptive trials. On June 20th the Vice President of Clinical Data Management & Regulatory Operations, Jonathan R. Andrus, will chair a session titled, “Functional Service Providers and the Next Stage of Evolution for Clinical Data Management.” The session will address the external and internal pressures that are changing the role and delivery of clinical data management. Mr. Andrus will also speak in the session “Overall Data Integrity Plans for Working with Data from Multiple Vendors” on June 20th.

On June 21st Stephen Boccardo, Vice President of Sales and Marketing will present, “Practical Aspects of Implementing Adaptive Trials,” an intermediate session that will identify and explain the choices and challenges in adaptive trials. In addition, he will discuss how to leverage technology to improve the implementation of adaptive trial designs.
